San Carlos, CA - Prime Recognition announced today the availability of PrimeOCR version 3.6. This latest release of Prime Recognition’s “Voting” OCR technology provides increases in OCR accuracy, new output options including HTML, and PDF output improvements.

New PrimeOCR version 3.6 features include:

• Addition of sixth OCR engine -   PrimeOCR's award winning OCR software accuracy improves OCR accuracy by adding an additional OCR engine to its existing five engine OCR set, further reducing errors typically generated by conventional OCR.

• Addition of lexical check plus - A powerful lexical layer was added to PrimeOCR's processing options to further increase confidence and accuracy of OCR results.  Users can customize lexical check plus to increase the confidence of words found in pre-compiled lexicons or user defined dictionaries.  By increasing the confidence of words found in the lexicon, the lexical check plus lowers the number of characters that need to be verified thus lowering verification times significantly.  Lower verification costs translates directly to lower project processing costs.  The lexical check plus layer option can also be configured to "auto-correct" words that are not found in the lexicons further increasing the accuracy of the OCR results.

• Support for user dictionaries - PrimeOCR can now make lexical comparisons with words supplied by the user in a text based user dictionary to increase character recognition and improve OCR accuracy.

• PrimeOCR Template/Job Wizard - With version 3.6, PrimeOCR now includes a wizard that steps through processing options allowing the user to easily create powerful processing templates and job files within minutes.   The wizard can run directly from the PrimeOCR Job Server for localized template and job creation or a user can run it from any network PC to remotely create processing files.   The wizard provides the ease of use to set up PrimeOCR to process thousands of images with just a few clicks of the mouse.

• HTML and comma delimited output - Generate high accuracy results with PrimeOCR and convert images directly to the web with HTML formatted output or to any database format with comma delimited output.  With multiple voting OCR engines, PrimeOCR retains font and page layout attributes generating HTML formatted output that looks like the original document.  Import fields and data into any database format with standard comma delimited output.  Especially useful for forms based applications, output from each field can be imported and manipulated by any third party application.

• Improvements to PDF output - Changes made to PDF output include, among others, faster re-draw of the text output during viewing and improved viewing speeds of large (>5,000 pages) multi-page documents.
