Three Products Attain InputAccel Certification to Solve Data Capture
Requirements.
October 19, 1998 San Jose,
CA Input Software, Inc. (NASDAQ: INPT), the recognized industry leader in information capture software, today kicked off their new Technology Provider Program by announcing three companies whose products had passed InputAccel-certification testing and who deliver forms and recognition solutions for data capture needs. The companies are Prime Recognition, Inc., TeraForm Inc., and RAF Technology, Inc. Input Softwares new Technology Provider Program has been developed specifically for customers looking to solve mission critical information capture problems using third party solutions to extend the capabilities of InputAccels standard functionality. Independent Software Vendors (ISVs) and developers with interfaces or modules between their software products and InputAccel are participating. The program consists of a suite of software development tools and cooperative marketing initiatives allowing Input Software and the Technology Provider Partner to deliver end to end solutions to corporate and government customers. Kimra Hawley, President & CEO of Input Software, stated that
"InputAccel has always been a flexible, scaleable, open-architecture product
that can be customized to satisfy a wide range of capture requirements. This expanded
Technology Partner Program, which includes certification testing, demonstrates ours and
our partners commitment to providing customers with "best of breed"
solutions that have been thoroughly tested to ensure interoperability."
Prime Recognition, Inc. Prime Recognition (www.primerecognition.com), based in San Carlos, California, develops advanced OCR solutions for the "production" marketplace, including its flagship product PrimeOCR, a two-time winner of the Product of the Year Award from Imaging Magazine. Prime Recognitions goal is to accelerate the acceptance of OCR by designing products specifically for high volume/commercial users, addressing key OCR issues such as accuracy and reliability. PrimeOCR customers include service bureaus, system integrators, internet service providers, government agencies, the Fortune 500 and companies in the banking, software, insurance, legal, manufacturing, medical, and transportation industries. "InputAccels certification program will send a
strong message to potential users that leading edge imaging technologies from third party
vendors are available and work well within the strong InputAccel framework. We look
forward to further penetration of the imaging market and continued success as a partner
with Input Software," stated Kenn Dahl, President of Prime Recognition, Inc.
TeraForm, Inc. TeraForm, Inc. (www.teraform.com) is a document imaging software company whose business is automating data entry from documents and forms. The company was founded in 1993 and is headquartered in San Jose, CA. TeraForm's customers are leading companies in fields such as medical claims processing, insurance, telecommunications, transportation, and financial services. InputAccel can now read data from forms and documents
previously considered impossible to read by computer. With TeraForm's FormMapperTM
module for InputAccel, customers no longer need to re-design their forms to be
"computer-friendly"; rather, the software adapts to customers existing
document stream. TeraForm's FormMapper automatically locates and reads data fields
from forms and documents. It handles the unpredictable variations in form design, data
placement, text quality, number of records, and image scanning, which prevent reliable
zoning and reading of specific data fields.
RAF Technology, Inc. RAF Technology, Inc. (www.raf.com), a privately held company based in Redmond, Washington, specializes in data capture and pattern recognition the automated reading, interpretation, and validation of written and electronic "data streams." The companys software products bridge the transition from hard copy data to an electronic data world and simplify the management of multiple data types, like paper forms, faxes, microfiche records, electronic files, electronic input from raw key entry, and archived images from CD-ROM. These are all merged into a single, validated data stream that can be uploaded to any application database. "RAF is pleased to be one of the first partners certified to work with InputAccel. The combination of RAF's Cartouche product and InputAccel have been meeting customers data capture and perfection needs for more than two years, and this certification demonstrates the effectiveness of our joint effort, " stated Dave Ross, President and CEO of RAF Technology, Inc. "We are very pleased to have these initial partners certified.
Our goal with the certification aspect of The Technology Provider Program is to make sure
leading solution providers are tightly integrated with InputAccel in a way that
solves real business problems for our customers," stated Jim Leitch, Business
